  1.           Blow the Gab: It means to turn a criminal you know in to the authorities.   Synonyms: To squeak, to whiddle, to cackle.  Page 4 Paragraph 2
  2.      Canting Lay: To be a criminal. To be “on the canting lay” is to be a criminal.  Page 4 Paragraph 
  3.           Chiff, chive: A knife.  Page 74 Paragraph 2
  4.       Cove: A man or boy. Molly explains them as young boys who like to follow and taunt people, or steal their things.    Page 20 Paragraph 
  5.         Flash: Underground lingo. Short for Flash-cant. Anything having to do with crime; flash-cove, flash-ken.  Page 55 Paragraph 5
  6.       Flash-Cant: The special and secret “language” spoken by thieves, so nib-culls (fine people) can’t understand them.   Page 55 Paragraph 5
